In this calming class, you will learn how to use soft pastels to create a beautiful drawing.

No prior knowledge or art skills are necessary.

Finger painting with soft pastels has numerous benefits including but not limited to increasing mindfulness, reducing stress, inducing happiness, sparking creativity, improving memory, promoting optimism, and enhancing motor skills.

The materials needed are: soft pastels chalk set; pastel paper; scratch paper; pencil; pen; scissors; damp cloth/towel; soft and hard erasers.

Suggested materials are: razor or knife or wire mesh; calligraphy pen; blush brush; cotton pad or balls; cutting board; artist's erasers small cutting mat or cutting board; little litter box or little desktop garbage can to dump excess chalk; architectural or art template or stencil; masking tape or artist’s tape; andparchment/wax paper or glass frame or fixative to set the colors to the paper/to prevent smudging; if you do not want to use a toxic spray to set the colors when you are done with your amazing drawing, you may wish to store it in parchment/wax paper or behind a glass (such as in a frame).
